Sts. Teresa and Bridget Food Pantry(a ministry of St. Josephine Bahkita Parish)
"You pray for the hungry. Then you feed them. This is how prayer works." - Pope Francis
St. Peter Parish, thank you for your continued support of Sts. Teresa and Bridget Food Pantry. Thanks to the generosity of St. Peter parishioners, each month, our team of shoppers provides over $2,500 worth of groceries to this food pantry. Our parish is truly able to be the hands and feet of Christ, to the hungry and homeless of our city. Special thanks to all of our shoppers and our delivery crew each month.
If you are unfamiliar with this ministry, it began over 15 years ago by John and Candy Behl. Each month, St. Peter takes truckloads of non-perishable food items to the parish of St. Josephine Bahkita for the food pantry located on the Sts. Bridget and Teresa campus. We are the primary provider of food to this pantry through the generous donations of St. Peter Parish.
Interested in getting involved? This ministry provides service opportunities for everyone. Most area high schools have approved this for 2 hours of service each month that the teen shops.
Pick up items when you shop and place them in the black bin, near the shed located by the garages of the old rectory. Items most needed each month are peanut butter, jelly in a squeeze bottle, can fruit and vegetables, sardines, can pasta and peanut butter crackers, but any non-perishable item is accepted.
Donate financially to allow us to continue to provide food each month. Use the link or watch for the Knights of Columbus who collect each month after Sunday masses. Link: https://stpeterkirkwood.org/online-giving *Choose “Give Now” and then select St. Josephine Bakhita from the drop-down menu.
