Overcoming Racism hosted by the Racial Unity Committee
Written by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Stations of the Cross: Overcoming Racism provides a Lenten reflection which can help open our hearts to the persistent sin of racism and the call to help overcome it.
Through the Eyes of Mary
“Your own heart a sword shall pierce.” Among the most profound ways of entering the mystery of Jesus’ passion is through the eyes of the one who accompanied him with the deepest compassion — his Mother Mary. The stations are accompanied by live music to allow for silent reflection in between the meditations.
Outdoor Stations
On Good Friday, at 12:00 noon, the Stations of the Cross will be presented outdoors (weather permitting) on the St. Peter Church grounds. The prayer will follow the traditional sequence of the stations of the cross and will include reflection readings at each station. Participants will walk from station to station as a group, and the scheduled portion of the prayer will conclude in the Msgr. Jack Costello Prayer Garden.
