Frequently Asked Questions
 
When does registration normally take place?
 Registration normally occurs in September.
 
 When do we find out what team my child is on?
 October
 
 When does the season usually start?
 5^th – 8^th grades start in December. 3^rd – 4^th grades start in January
 
 When does the season usually end?
 Regular season play ends in February. Any postseason tournaments will wrap up in early March. 
 
 How many games can we expect to play?
 Approximately 10 regular season games. Your coach may also elect to play in a pre-season tournament, and/or your team may qualify for post-season championship games.
  
 When are games played?
 Usually on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays.
 
 What are the minimum playing time requirements?
 Coaches are encouraged to balance playing time equally amongst all players, though playing time may occasionally be limited for disciplinary reasons. The CYC minimum requirements are that each player shall play a minimum of 25% (one-quarter) of each game.
  
 Can my child trade teams with another player?
 No. We are not able to swap teams once rosters are set.
  
 How are the teams decided?
 The basketball directors work with the 3^rd and 4^th grade coaches to determine the teams for those grades. In 5^th grade and 7^th grade we use independent evaluators to help us split up the teams by skill level. We attempt to keep the rosters as close to the same as we can from the previous year in 6^th and 8^th grade.
