Adult Faith Formation

St. Peter offers many opportunities for adults to grow in their faith through bible study, marriage encounters, men's group, retreats, prayer groups and more. Please read through the following to learn how you can grow in your faith at St. Peter.

Adult Bible Study

Marriage Encounter

A group of married couples who have been on a Marriage Encounter retreat meet on a monthly basis to enrich their marriage. The focus is on a presentation of topics important to a marriage relationship.

For information about these Marriage Encounter community gatherings, contact Dave and Gina Marten at 314-698-2474.

For information about making a Marriage Encounter retreat, call 314-469-7317.

Men's Group

The purpose of the Men's Group is to reaffirm our belief and trust in God by interacting with men of the parish on a more personal level and by experiencing God in each other. Our faith is shared around questions like: What takes priority in my life? or How can I find God in my ordinary day-to-day struggles? All men of the parish are welcome to attend and participate.

All spouses of parishioners who are of another faith tradition are also welcome to attend the retreat. There will be two women's and two men's retreats held every year at the Mercy Center.

RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the process through which adults become full members of the Catholic Church. Full membership involves a formation process that culminates in the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. It involves a journey of faith and conversion.

If you hear God calling your name or you would like to learn more about the Catholic Church, please call Linda Doyle at 314-822-1347 or e-mail her at to learn more about the RCIA process or click here for more information.

Prayer Groups

Prayer is an important element of our personal faith. Throughout St. Peter a number of different groups gather at various times to pray, including those who pray for Pro-Life and other special focuses. If you're interested in joining a prayer group or would like to start one, call Ursuline Hall at 822-1347.
